The work presents some features of language representation of the concept «istina» («truth») in the contexts of conceptual-metaphoric usages in the modern Russian speech. The material is the language data of the Russian National Corpus. It is shown that the lexeme istina ( truth ) as the main representative of the concept of the same name is successively presented in reification models as concretely receipted, physical, biologic or social, thing, as substance, as container etc., and in animation models as alive entity, active and goal-setting human or supernatural creature etc. The author comes at a conclusion about importance of the scientific tools of the Lakoff-Johnson theory of metaphor for the analysis of language reflection of ethnic world-view, that is a sort of mythology.
