The article is devoted to the study of the Russian language mentality on the proverbial material. The subject of the study is the semanteme "wolf", which represents the stereotypical ideas of Russian people about the wolf, its role in human life. The purpose of the study is to create an invariant (microtext) of the use of these units in paremiology, to analyze their semantics, usage features, comparison of value judgments recorded in the meanings of words, stable expressions, semantic and structural organization of paremias. The study uses a modeling method. The resulting model reveals the value content of the semanteme, cultural stereotypes are built. The structure of the model is based on bundles-oppositions, in which important synonymic and antonymic connections are fixed. The brevity of the structure and semantics of the paremias leads to the super-volume of the main semaneme, in which the significance of each seme is increased. When analyzing the cultural and ethnic component of the semanteme model, its bivalence (negative and positive evaluation) was revealed, on the basis of which stable mental bundles are formed.
