In order to increase the efficiency of the functioning of penal inspections and reduce illegal actions against employees of these institutions of the penalsystem the author considered in the article various approaches to understanding the essence of the concept of «security» and related concepts, proposed the author's content of the concept of «security of employees of penal inspections», paid attention to security guarantees in the penal system, conditions and grounds for the use of security measures by employees of penal inspections.In the course of writing the article various methods were used: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, statistical method, legal modeling method and others.
