The article deals with the issues of state regulation of migration during the COVID-19 pandemic in various countries of the world. The measures taken in the spring of 2020 led to the emergence of a major migration crisis. The purpose of the article is to analyze the migration policy of states and the administrative and legal measures taken by them.The following methods of cognition were used: analysis, synthesis, content analysis, comparative legal method. The chosen methods made it possible to conduct a comparative analysis of the administrative and legal regulation of migration policy of various states during the COVID-19 pandemic. The types of assistance provided by States to certain categories of migrants were considered. It is concluded that most states during the pandemic simplified the processing of necessary documents for migrants and extended the period of stay in the country. However, the assistance provided to migrants proved insufficient to smooth out social tensions in the host countries. The author proposes to develop a legal mechanism acceptable to all recipient countries in case of emergencies.
