| The article is devoted to the study of rural libraries in the patrimony of Vologda and Kolomna episcopal houses. The authors came to the conclusion that by the beginning of Peter I’s reforms, rural libraries of the Russian state allowed residents to fully participate in church life. The set of books in the parish libraries was sufficient for conducting divine services. Most of the books in rural libraries of this time were printed editions, which is typical for book collections of Modern times. |
