The article offered to the reader deals with the study of the institution of constitutional supervision and constitutional control as specific types of state control and their role in the system of separation of powers in the Russian Federation. The author proves that the institution of state control is an integral element in ensuring the balance of the branches of power, providing a system of their checks and balances. Special attention is paid to the differentiation of the concepts of «state control», «constitutional control», «constitutional supervision», etc. in the normative and scientific literature, including through a substantive analysis of the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.
