The concept of crime is being explored, its components, problems of dynamics are investigated; an attempt was made to prove that criminology, the subject of which is crime, is an unlawful, although legal science. The evolution of crime is traced, its eternal character is shown, including primitive times, i.e. its existence even before the rise of civilization. The importance of studying the links between crime in general and criminal behavior is emphasized. A typology of crime has been proposed, its individual types have been identified on the basis of public danger. Suggestions are made regarding the structure of crime and the reliability of the registration of crimes committed.
