In the article approaches to defining the term conceptualization are considered. The relationship is carried out be- tween the conceptualization as the mental process as a result of which a person overthinks the received information and forms concepts and conceptual analysis as research process allowing to study and describe a concept. The means of terms’ conceptualization are listed. Using the example of the physical term plasma is considered the conceptualization of terms in the popular science text. The conceptual analysis showed that the most commonly used mean to conceptual- ize terms in popular science text is their compatibility.
