| This paper examines the structure of a double subject construction in Chinese. Based on the analysis and comparison of the notions of «topic and comment» and «subject-predicate» it is established what exactly the two noun phrases at the beginning of the sentence (hereinafter NP1, NP2) are. The conclusion suggests further analysis of this structure based on the tenets of cognitive linguistics. |
