The article presents the results of the frame analysis of the situation “insult”. An insult is seen as an action, that can be done verbally and non-verbally. The aim of the article is to shoe that our thoughts about the act are based on the invariable frame “action” that is a structure consisting of the following slots: motive, act (speech act), subject, object, evaluation, result. The article shows how the lexemes that name the action “insult” represent this invariable logical-cognitive model of the action in the Russian language and discourse. The research also draws out what differs and unites the variants of the same frame, that are of a speech act “insult” and of a non-verbal act “insult”.
