The article examines the peculiarities of the representation of the zoomorphic cultural code in the texts of modern fiction. Methodological approaches are determined that allow analyzing the stereotype and universality of the expression of this code. The correlation of the zoomorphic code with the verbal stereotypical means of its implementation is shown. It is demonstrated that in modern literary texts the authors prefer metaphorical and comparative constructions interpreted by the recipient. Correct decoding of the zoomorphic cultural code is possible if there is a common cultural picture of the world of the author and the reader.
