The paper studies the category of delayed aging which is introduced into the discourse of longevity and the position of senior people in modern society from the following aspects: - combination with other similar in meaning definitions - active ageing, proactive ageing, positive ageing, vitality, successful ageing; - delayed ageing - multilevel process: societal, social, individual; - necessity to control it, based on legal and legislative basis, multi-actors (the state - socially responsible business - civil society institutions - the family - the individual); - labour professional activity/labour professional employment require keeping professional functions switched on to the fullest extent possible; barriers in implementation (the most aggravated position of senior generation is connected with stereotypical perception of the elderly, manifestations of ageism, artificial infantilisation and disability of senior generation; - based on empirical research and examination of relevant sociological literature the paper summarises requirements for staff in the new economy and how well senior generation can meet these requirements. Particular attention is given to the issue of how organizational culture of innovative companies/businesses may affect the well-being of the elderly, in particular it restrains employees' social and psychological aging; - the paper emphasizes the role, behavior, lifestyle and intensions of middle-aged peo- ple, which are important for delayed ageing and which largely determine both positive and negative impact on the over-all atmosphere of social upbringing of 65+ generations.
