The article examines the current trends in drug addiction in modern society. The main goal of the article is to substantiate the statement that the Internet environment allows not only to track these trends, but itself, acting as a space of social communication, largely determines the scale and nature of the spread of psychoactive substances. The novation of the author's approach lies in the fact that modern web analytics tools are used as the main methodological tools. The following methods for assessing online drug addiction trends were used: analysis of queries in search services through the WordStat service and content analysis of publications in social networks through the IQBuzz service, as well as the study of specific sections of the darknet.
