The article deals with the main results of the sociological research «Students' attitudes towards training in a military training center, service in the Russian army under contract, and professional career in the power structures» aimed at identifying the factors influencing the professional strategies of students of a military training center. A comparative analysis of professional strategies of students enrolled in reserve officer and reserve soldier training programs was carried out. The data of the study allowed us to identify the motivation for training in a military training center, to characterize the level of student satisfaction with the choice of training, to identify students' assessment of the conditions of educational activity in the military training center, to determine the relationship of military education with the future professional choice, to identify the attitude of students to military service under contract and work in other law enforcement agencies.
