This article discusses some aspects of the influence of the subinstitute of fine arts on the formation of the civic identity of the younger generation. Considering the formation of a young person's civic identity through the prism of the processes of deep emotional experience of the surrounding reality, attitude to one's own ethnic group or state, the author discusses the role of the subinstitute of fine arts in this process based on the formation of symbolic representations of the holistic picture of the past, present and future among young people. The author supports his arguments with the materials of an interregional sociological survey of young people about civic identity, citizenship and the influence of the subinstitute of fine arts on the formation of their civic identity. The survey results present the respondents' opinion about their own identity, the leading values characteristic of the survey participants, young people's understanding of citizenship and their assessment of some forms of influence of the subinstitute of fine arts on young people's perception of themselves as a citizen of Russia, and on their civic identity.
