Abstract
The examination of euphemisms within the domain of political and geopolitical dynamics involving Kurdistan, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey emerges as a pertinent subject in Middle Eastern discourse, prominently addressed by the Kurdish media. This linguistic inquiry discusses the interethnic conflict, particularly at the lexical level, relying on textual analyses from reputable platforms such as Rudaw.net and Kurdistan24.net. Notably, these platforms disseminate speeches by significant political figures including President Latif Rashid of Iraq, President Nechirvan Idris Barzani of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Masoud Mustafa Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masrour Masoud Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and Muqtad al-Sadr, the leader of the Shiite revolution. The methodological framework employed encompasses semantic analysis, continuous sampling, and a descriptive approach, complemented by elements of content analysis. Throughout this investigation, euphemistic expressions are categorized based on their method of formation, thematic relevance, and typology. The quantitative distribution of these euphemistic groups within the analyzed texts is elucidated, accompanied by illustrative examples. Additionally, the study scrutinizes the interplay between the expressive and content planes of these euphemisms, providing a comprehensive analysis of their nuanced representation in the specified media outlets.
