The article is devoted to the consideration of the categories of control, supervision and control and supervisory activities in relation to the field of higher education. Having examined the content of the categories “control”, “supervision”, “control (supervision)”, “control and supervisory activities”, the author comes to the conclusion that there are still unresolved issues of legal consolidation of these categories in the provisions of the current legislation. The first step in resolving pf these issues may be the definition of control and supervisory activities in the field of higher education obtained by the author.
