The article deals with the domestic historiography of the «New Eastern Policy» of the Federal Republic of Germany during the period of the Social Liberal coalition and the chancellorship of Willy Brandt. It is noted that the «New Eastern Policy» from the moment of its emergence attracted the attention of domestic researchers. The authors emphasize the high evaluation of the «New Eastern Policy» in the domestic historiography. This assessment remained unchanged at all stages of development of domestic historiography of the «New Eastern Policy» both in the Soviet and modern Russian ones.
