Abstract
The article presents the results of a study, the main method of which was direct observation of the stylistic functions and properties of various types of markers of insanity and description of the features of their functioning in the texts of Russian novels of the 19th century. In addition, the analysis of scientific and theoretical sources, the structural-semantic method based on induction, the comparative-contrastive method, as well as methods of contextual and semantic-stylistic analysis were used. All this allowed us to identify, describe and classify the markers of madness of various language levels in three Russian novels of the XIX century.
