Abstract
The Russian-speaking population's growing interest in Chinese language and culture highlights the need for abundant educational and reference materials to facilitate successful intercultural communication. The rich content of classic Russian literature translated into Chinese can be effectively used in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this article, the authors conducted a comparative content analysis of Anton Chekhov's texts in both Russian and Chinese, revealing significant lexical and tonal differences between the two languages that reflect sociocultural disparities. Based on this analysis, the study identifies key areas for further research to effectively prepare and assess Anton Chekhov's works to meet the current and future educational and cultural consumption needs of individuals.
