The paper considers the provisions of the draft law on the introduction of amendments to Federal Law № 120-FL dated June 24, 1999 «On the basics of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency», concerning the expansion of the list of categories of minors for placement in a temporary detention center for juvenile offenders of internal affairs bodies. The proposal on the expediency of including minors in this list who have repeatedly committed unauthorized departures from families, organizations for orphaned children and children left without parental care, and other organizations within one year has been challenged.
