Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of text obfuscation, which is understood as obscuring the content of the text or the meaning of its fragment, which introduces ambiguity, generates uninformativeness, and hides the meaning embedded in the text or its part. Text obfuscation is considered as a non-cooperative communicative strategy that violatesG.P. Grice's postulates of communication. It is shown that text obfuscation acts as an abnormal use of language and abnormal realization of communication models with different intentionality and different perlocutionary effect. The theoretical and linguistic description of the varieties of obfuscated text is proposed taking into account the division of linguistic anomalies into anomalies of world conceptualization, anomalies of a language and anomalies of a text. The linguistic-semiotic approach to the analysis of obfuscation is substantiated on the basis of determining the entropy of the obfuscated text in comparison with the unobfuscated one. It is concluded that the increased entropy of the obfuscated text can, on the one hand, be a marker of text incomprehensibility, and on the other hand, for example, in the case of a fiction text, serve as an indicator of its significant semantic capacity and expressiveness.
