The purpose of the article is to consider the peculiarities of expressing spatial and temporal relations with the help of non-derived simple prepositions. The source of practical material for the analysis is the Russian National Corpus. The study of prepositional semantics is conducted in verbal and substantive phrases as basic among all phrases. The results of the study confirm the high productivity of prepositions belonging to the given subclass in linguistic representation of space and time. The most typical spatial and temporal uses of non-derived simple prepositions are identified and described. The range of verbs and nouns that are most characteristic of phrases with these prepositions is determined. It is shown that non-derived simple prepositions expressing space and time can be used with very different verbs and nouns, which means that they play a very important role in the formation of a large number of phrases in the Russian language.
