The article actualizes the need for scientific knowledge of issues related to foreign military criminal law in the modern period, draws attention to the accumulated experience of considering the doctrine and practice of countering military crimes in foreign countries in Soviet jurisprudence, the state of theoretical elaboration of the problems of military and comparative military criminal law in Soviet jurisprudence is subjected to a more detailed study, the causes and factors of its origin and development are revealed, the specifics of the research conducted at the specified time, their excessive ideologization, which prevents the formation of the most complete and reliable system of views on comparative military criminal law, are determined.
