| The paper gives the results of linguistic approach to Russian bill that bans naming the settlements by their offensive names. The legal and common understanding of insult are being distinguished. The linguistic research outlines the most disputable names of the region and applies the semantic and stylistic analysis. Insulting is scaled by degree from the least offensive to the most outstanding. The new definition of the notion offence is proposed. |
