Abstract
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the methodological potential of the criminalistic theory of causality in the system of criminalistic theory and the system of practical activities of subjects of criminal prosecution. Research methods: abstraction, induction, empirical analysis, idealization, constructive introduction of theoretical objects, general scientific and philosophical justification. The results of the study: the paradigm of "pretrial" criminology is critically analyzed and the ways of its transformation are determined, taking into account the modern needs of the criminal prosecution system; the prospects for the development of the criminalistic theory of cause and effect in conjunction with individual private criminalistic theories are determined; methodology and ways of mutual enrichment from these private theories in the process of their systemic development are determined ways to improve the legal, organizational and the criminalistic aspects of the practice of exposing a criminal during pretrial and judicial criminal prosecution.
