The article discusses the features of the implementation of social entrepreneurship by federal development institutions. The relationship between social entrepreneurship and the social function of the state, as well as the mechanisms for involving business entities in socially oriented activities are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the experience of foreign countries, where social entrepreneurship is a fairly developed institution. Approaches to understanding the essence of social entrepreneurship in the doctrine of business law are also analyzed. The author concludes that the participation of certain federal development institutions in the framework of socially oriented entrepreneurial activity is insufficient. It is necessary to closely and intensively cooperate with the federal development institution VEB.RF of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in order to more actively involve business entities in social investment, taking into account grant support from federal resources.
