Abstract
The article examines the use of lexical units in foreign textbooks of Russian as a foreign language in order to analyze the formation of the image of Russia and the Russian person. To achieve this goal, the methods of continuous sampling, contextual analysis and quantitative analysis were used. The material was text fragments from foreign textbooks reflecting cultural and socio-cultural concepts. The study revealed that lexical constructions not only convey information about traditions, everyday life and social norms, but also form cognitive schemes for perceiving Russian culture. These schemes can contribute to both deepening intercultural understanding and reinforcing stereotypes. The results show that lexical means play a key role in creating cultural and cognitive constructions that shape foreign students' ideas about Russia and the Russian person. A conclusion is made about the importance of taking these aspects into account when developing textbooks to increase their effectiveness in the process of intercultural communication.
