Within the framework of this article, certain axiological aspects of the usually legal regulation of legal relations in a peasant community are considered. The principles and value foundations of customary peasant law were determined by the communal way of managing in peasant societies, the characteristics of peasant society and the presence in it of multidimensional horizontal social connections, spiritual, religious and ideological factors. Values such as collectivism and mutual assistance, justice and mercy, a strong family and creative work determined the formation of the legal consciousness of peasants, legal relations and social practice in the peasant community. Despite the locality and casuistry of peasant legal customs, on the one hand, and their flexibility, caused by the peculiarities of social relations in the community, on the other hand, their value foundations, which we can attribute to traditional conservatism, were constants in the institutional matrix of peasant societies. Modern challenges require a revision of the value foundations of the national legal doctrine, which is not possible without studying the legal tradition that reflects traditional spiritual values.
