The aim of the study was to identify the linguistic influence of the romanticizing of violence, realized in song discourse, on the formation of an axiological picture of the world. The study involved the texts of English and Russian popular songs. The research methods were: continuous sampling method, lexical-semantic analysis, linguocognitive interpretation, interviewing, comparative method. A comparison of the lyrics of English and Russian songs showed symmetry and asymmetry in the methods of linguistic objectivation of violence. Conclusions are drawn about the presence of linguistic influence of the romanticizing of violence on the formation of an axiological picture of the world.
