The purpose of the article is to analyze slang metaphorization in the youth environment. The material for the analysis was the received words-reactions to the words-stimuli obtained during the associative experiment from first-year students. The result of the study makes it possible to state that metaphorical jargon is quite diverse in grammatical and derivational characteristics. Moreover, in the derivational aspect, the most common methods of occasional formation are identified. From the point of view of semantics, it was possible to distinguish the main semantic motivational spheres addressed by the nominator using the phenomenon of synesthesia. The conclusion is drawn about the consistency and dynamism of slang metaphorization in youth discourse.
