The possibility to correct curvature profiles of modular samples (MS) consisting of active elements (AE) and the base is studied. Calculations of two types of MS have been performed, with AE being thermoexpanding elements for the first type, and piezoelements for the second. In the first case, the MS curvature varies due to the thermal deformations regulated by the change of the MS temperature, while in the second case the curvature is controlled by the electric field due to AE piezodeformations. AE parameters are varied according to the dimensions and are positioned along the MS surface. Depending on AE modifying parameters, the MS surface profile takes a parabolic, elliptical, or hyperbolic shape.
