Mathematical methods used to study the stability of lumped objects moving along distributed elastic guides have been reviewed. The main stages of mathematical analysis of the stability of an object moving along an elastic guide are listed (for the case of linear models). All these stages are then demonstrated by the example of an oscillator moving along an Euler-Bernoulli beam. |
