Chitosan film strain-strength characteristics have been investigated for chitosan films with different molecular
weight and degrees of deacetilation. The films have been obtained from aqueous hydrochloric and acetic acid solutions
with varying chitosan and acid concentrations. A comparison of film mechanical properties has been made for
chitosan in saline form and chitosan in basic form. The chitosan films with М>8.6?104 prepared from acetic acid
solutions have been shown to demonstrate enforced elastic deformations. The film strain-strength properties and
chitosan structure have been compared. The correlation between changes of strength and degrees of deacetilation has
been demonstrated.
