The paper discusses given names in the context of mass culture using the example of the United States of America.
The names of heroes, characters, and idols do not vanish without leaving a trace; they are preserved as symbols
of culture, generations, and time. Such names are created, disseminated, become the element of collective memory
and mass consciousness; they also bring up associations with certain psychological stereotypes of behaviour, life
style, manners, a type of beauty, etc. |
