The article represents the results of the investigation into the volitional semantics in the Old-English Language
with the usage of the functional grammar and pragmalinguistics methodology. The study into the volitional
semantics opens the possibility to cover a wide range of modal meanings from imperative to optative. A detailed
overview of the linguistic means of expression of the volitional semantics is provided along with the description of a
functional-semantic space of stimulation. |
