The simulation and development of infinite impulse response (IIR) filters taking into account the possibilities of
their practical realization are considered. The problem statement and solution of multifunctional synthesis of digital
filters with arbitrary-shaped characteristics are given. It is shown that such a problem can be solved on the basis of
numerical methods of discrete nonlinear mathematical programming. As an example, the problem solution of discrete
multifunctional synthesis of a recursive Gaussian filter is given.
