The results have been presented of noise level measurements and spectral analysis of experimentally recorded air-acoustic field produced by a hovercraft moving along the river. The study of air-acoustic noise characteristics is intended to identify the dominant sound generation mechanism. For this purpose, a discussion of some peculiarities of noise spectrum has been presented together with an attempt of their physical interpretation. The experimental data are also considered from the point of view of using the hovercraft as a sound source in atmospheric acoustic experiments.
