| The paper is focused on the limitations of structural approach to semantic research that make one turn to the problem of the subject of linguistics. An important component of this object is the pragmatic category of choice with which representatives of various disciplines in the humanities have to deal. The choice of language units and categories in language functioning is characterized by observability and manifests the anthropocentric aspect of language phenomena. Thus, it may be used to identify the object of linguistic research. |
