Abstract
The aim of the study was to get pathomorphological evidence of chronic heart failure, induced by dosed introduction of silicon oil into pleural cavities in rats. Changes in the heart, lungs and liver of experimental rats were evaluated with the help of routine pathomorphological and pathohistological methods. Video analysis was used for morphometric measurements of cardiomyocytes, hepatocytes and lungs parameters. Myocardium hypertrophy of left, and especially, right ventricles, as well as circulatory congestion and pulmonary hypertension in rats with chronic heart failure were found. Thus, the mode of oil introduction that we used allows to construct a model of total chronic heart failure.
