| The status of macrocomponents of the functional-semantic field (FSF) of comparison in the German language is investigated. The analysis of the linguistic material shows that the core of FSF is formed by the syntactic structures possessing the meaning of comparison of inequality, identity and similarity. The syntactic structure with the meaning of comparison of inequality is the only one being categorial, the semantics of the other two structures mentioned being dependent on the lexico-grammatical peculiarities of the constituents. The syntactic units with the meaning of comparison of similarity are likely to be the ones most open to attraction. Thus, FSF of comparison in the German language can be generally treated as a weakly centered field. |
