It has been shown by photocolorimetric research and by the studies of the absorption spectra in the UV region and in the visible spectrum that heparin interacts with apitoxin and melittin in solution. Phospholipase A2 does not interact with heparin in vitro. The optical density of the solution increases when sodium, potassium, calcium and silver salts are added to the solvent. Our studies in the visible spectrum have shown that methylene blue is displaced by apitoxin in complex heparin compounds.
