Abstract
In traditional peak detectors nonlinear or parametric transformation of an АМ signal is followed by filtering. This results in detection lag effect and distortions that increase as modulation and carrier frequencies approach each other. We offer and analyze an inertialess algorithm of energy peak detection which performs quite well at rather small ratios of AM signal modulation and carrier frequencies. Computer simulation results confirm certain advantages of the detector proposed.
