This article is an attempt to analyze all non-Greek female personal names of the Bosporus known by now: Iranian,
Thracian, Judaic, and those from Asia Minor. We consider the ethnic origin of their bearers, ways of their penetration
into Bosporan cities, etymology and context of these names existence. The author concludes that the presence
of these names bearers fits well into the general picture of ethnic processes in the region. Insignificant number
of non-Greek female names in the Bosporan onomasticon may be explained by the tradition of name changing.
