Optical absorption spectra are investigated of YSZ (yttria stabilized zirconia) samples implanted with multicharged
Au ions at 160 keV average energy and annealed. These spectra are related to the formation of metal gold
and zirconium nanoparticles (Au MNPs and Zr MNPs). Zr MNPs are first formed at a dose of 5.1015 ion/cm2. They
disappear after annealing at T =400oC. Au MNP formation starts when annealing temperature reaches about 700oC
and their concentration increases with the temperature. At doses ? 1.1016 ion/cm2, a complex absorption band is
formed. Its modification with further annealing testifies to the transformation of Zr containing MNPs into Au MNPs. |
