Abstract
Variability of craniometric patterns of the lesser common field mouse at various altitudinal levels in the Central Caucasus has been studied. Different reactions to the effect of geographical factor in animals from foothills and middle mountains have been revealed. At the foothills, the animals occurring at the lowest altitude have the largest cranial size. In the medium-mountain regions, on the contrary, cranial size increases with the altitude.
