Abstract
Among the priority application trends of the speech perception information theory (SPIT) are, above all, the problems of modern dialectology. How to compare different dialects by their proximity or differences on a basic phonetic level? And what is a quantitative measure of such differences? SPIT methodology for the first time in the world science has opened up opportunities for giving rigorous answers to both of these and many other similar questions.
