The author considers certain English verbs, which due to their idioethnic nature constitute a particular layer in
the English vocabulary. These verbs are classified according to the number of semantic arguments in their structure,
their character and the meaning of the predicate. Depending or the number of semantic arguments, the semantic
structures of the verbs in question can be presented as two-, three- and four- argument patterns. The nature of the
arguments depends on the valency of the verbs. |
