A nonlinear inertial monostable system is considered with the additive mixture of a harmonic signal and a white
noise supplied to its input. Under certain parameters the signal power amplification and the signal-to-noise ratio at the
system output can be nonmonotonic functions of the input noise intensity, i.e. there is a possibility of stochastic
resonance and antiresonance to arise. An analysis of the potential profile shape impact on the signal power amplification
and signal-to-noise ratio is carried out on the basis of two systems described by piecewise linear monostable potentials.
