The article considers the metaphor as a mental representation along with some peculiarities of its existence
in the cognitive base of an individual. The approach to the study of metaphor as a part of natural semiotic continuum
is theoretically substantiated. While it functions in the mental space as an object of natural semiosis, the metaphor
maps the semiotic continuum of an individual and represents the main vector for interpreting information. |
